Why do so many straight people want to go to Gay nightclubs?

When I was younger, gay nightclubs always seemed to be hidden away. I remember the Tunnel Club in Cardiff (the first gay nightclub I ever went to) was in the basement of a department store and the entrance was hidden away in a back alley.
Now, Gay Nightclubs are, quite rightly no longer hidden away but everyone I have been to over the last 3 to 4 years seems to be icreasingly populated by trendy heterosexuals.
Whilst I have no real issue about who goes where ( I go to straight clubs with friends), I just wonder what the attraction is with a gay club for heterosexuals?
Do gay clubs have better dj's? Better Toilets?
Whats the attraction?

For me I started going to gay pubs and clubs when I was 17 because 2 of my best friends were gay and they decided to take me into Edinburgh for a night out and it just became a regular night out for the three of us.
I've haven't been out in Edinburgh for years at all but when my fiancé and I go down to Wales we usually try to have at least one night out in Cardiff and go to Club X as my fiancé is from Wales and has gay friends down there and it is nice to dump into them and catch up a bit while we are on holiday, also the music is usually better and most gay clubs don't have strict dress codes like a lot of straight clubs do.

Interesting topic! This is also a question haunted me for quite some years.
I remember when I finally "officially" came out to my friends (I believe some of them had already got some clues long before that), just a few years ago, besides being asked by my straight friends "What it feels like to be a gay guy?", like a thousand times, the next question I answered most was "Would you mind... um... taking me with you to a club... a gay nightclub, next time when you go to any of them?" I was quite surprised! I just couldn't help but wondering "Are you telling me that you are gay too? And you're now asking me out?" But well, it's now clear that of course they were not!
I think we could never quite get what was going on in the straight guys' heads, just like they can never completely understand us. Maybe, well, who knows, they just want to check if they're so attractive that even the guys will fall head over heels for them. But be honest, I reckon it's just plain curiosity, they're just curious about the things we do, the places we go and the lives we live.

I think its mainly because it is seen as fashionable.
Most gay clubs I have been too recently seem to have the latest in sound and light systems, attract big named stars to appear and are generally seen as safer places to be seen.
