if you want speakers that have powerful bass, then you can't get wrong with the Logitech Z2300 speaker system. probably the best in its class

well if you go for altech lansing it gives you better quality less noise even in higher volume but only for price and that is what matters most, price, they are way costly than the creative inspire 2.1 which is a best value for money now in market. so i personally choose creative as i am from price concious market like india.

I suggest you go to Best Buy or any store that has demo displays, and hear them for yourself. Both Creative and Altec Lansing make quality products, though offhand, I'd be inclined to say the latter tends to have the edge. But again, BEST to hear them in action before you BUY. :P
Now if you find a Bose product for computers, I would say you'll know even without a demo that it will be a clean sound with well-defined highs, a tight and accurate bass foundation, and vocals that come out of the speakers to join you in the room. :)

what are you planning to do with the speakers that's the question. if you want a heartbeat thomping bass go for Altec lansing. they do have a more deep bass and rich sound than Creative. i bought a 5.1 speakers from altec lansing and i never regret that i got it. its worth spending your money with eventhough its a liittle more expensive. dont but creative they make crappy products... believe me!
