I did something I don't usually do. I got all excited because I thought of a discussion that I thought might be really popular. So as soon as I got home, I got right on here and started it WITHOUT checking to see if it was already being discussed. Sure enough there are a bunch of other ones pretty much just like it!
So sorry to everyone else who started the same thing, I wasn't trying to steal your idea. Lesson learned though.
Guess it does prove that great minds think alike!

To be honest, I never check ahead....I think most things have been discussed before and even if they have they tend to get buried. I don't go through every post, just the ones at the top so I'm sure I miss a lot.
In any case, I wouldn't worry too much about it!

Yeah, a lot of things have already been done and get buried pretty quickly so it usually isn't a big deal. This was just one of those things that is for just today so all of the others were started today too.

I almost always check, because you can get deleted if you post something someone already has. However, sometimes, the discussion doesn't show up until after I posted it. All of a sudden in similar discussions, there it is - the topic I JUST posted. I had the best of intentions... : )

Many of us end up posting similar discussions, and it is not always, because we did not search first. I have actually searched and not come up with anything, and then when I posted my discussion there have been others in the similar discussions below mine that were very similar to mine.
Searching does help though, but do not be too hard on yourself if you ended up posting something that has already been done. This is a big site with thousands of discussions. Some are bound to be repeated, as long as they are only similar ideas, and not exact discussions I don't think it's that big of a deal as long as you don't do it all of the time

The one I'm talking about hasn't gotten any responses yet anyway. I guess it wasn't as big of a deal as I thought!
Can I give you a little advice though? And please don't be offended, this is me helping not criticizing...I haven't checked any of the ones you've started but if all of them read like this post that might explain why you don't get anywhere with them. It's really important to watch your spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization if you want people to take you seriously here. Also try not to use so much "chat speak"...sumthing, ne...lol is alright most times if you're saying something funny. Good luck here and I hope you start getting more attention!
