Campaign spending

I think it's ridiculous the amount of money being raised and spent for the 2008 presidential election. The money could be used for better purposes then this. It's absolutely disgusting how much money is wasted on campaign spending, not only for the presidential races but on all of them, even the local elections. What's everyone else's view on this topic?

Yes that is ridiculous! I don't even like hearing about it. That money could be used to help people get out of homeless shelters, more money for shelters, money for education, almost anything would be better! really, if you have to campaign so much just to get voters, maybe you shouldn't be running for office!

While the amount of money is unbelievable, one of the beautiful thing about living here is spending your money the way you see fit.
If you think the money can be better spent, then start an organization to raise money for whatever charity you would like to help.
