A family dat dines together lives together!!!!!!!!!!
i don't know about other's but most of the people i know ,and even i prefer watching TV while eating...Well i know people who watch TV tend to get obese bcoz of improper digestion of the food......but eatin food on dining table sometimes gets so boring that u devlop habit of watching TV while eatin......

Yupe... I do watch tv while eating, sometimes we can make conversation base on the television topics.
If wathcing tv tend to obese maybe it's too much eat in front of tv, and always eat if watching tv -lol-, if only dinner, lunch and have it properly I think it's normal.

We eat dinner at the table and there is no tv anywhere near it. Sometimes in the evening when we watch tv we will have a plate of food or snacks to nibble on. We don't have family meals in front of the television, though.
I got this little blurb from the inspirationcenter: "y: Turning off the tube and opting for family meals may help prevent childhood obesity, according to an analysis that tracked 8,000 children from kindergarten through third grade. Findings showed that youngsters who watched more television and ate fewer family meals were more likely to be overweight for the first time at spring semester of third grade."
It makes sense. I bet you eat a lot more because you are on autopilot.

I dont think its too do with improper digestion. Its the destraction of the telly where you dont concentrate on your food and you end up eating more than you needed to, and too fast. Sitting at the table means you are focused on your eating and means your body has time to tell you that you are full (it takes 20mins for you stomach to tell your brain you are full)
I regularly eat in front of the telly as we dont have a space for a dining table in our house. But I limit the amount of food on my plate so even if i dont pay attention, i still wont over eat.

I watch TV while I am eating, mostly because I don't have a dining room, live alone and it's like having company.
When I lived at home with my family, we rarely watched television while we were eating unless it was at Christmas or a big holiday and there was a blockbuster movie or some special televised event. Family dinners were a time when we all actually talked to each other
