Why do girls hide their age and not boys?

Some girls will answer that they never hide it although the next moment they may still prefer not to tell their age! Some will answer it with question that why do boys hide their salary? What's the real reason? Generally, it is seen that girls hide their age after they turn 18. So, i think they wanna look young forever. I am sure there are many other reasons?You may have met a girl who was let's say 18 last year and is still 18 after 1 year has already passed. Did you tell her that she is 19 now? I won't because i would rather let them live in their fantasy world.:)

Similar to this observation is mine. I wonder why boys take pride in being called 'man' and girls dislike being called a 'woman'. I m a lecturer in a girls institute and this woman's day I asked my class to express themselves on their day i.e. Woman's day. the first reaction unanimously was we are not woman we are girls. what I think is the reason behind this social phenomenon is the traits we symbolise to being a desirable male or female. A man's image fantasised is brave, strong, responsible; that a boy wants to be. A female's image fantasised is youg, beautiful, innocent, a person who has to be taken care of. 'woman' sounds mature, no longer innocent. Society still desires a girl who is gullible, lovely, innocent-not so mature as to speak her mind and have her viewpoint. so being called a girl instead of woman or hiding their age makes a female accept her social image and feel more wannable.

Yeah, you are right. Women don't like themselves being called as women. They like themselves to be addressed as girls and in the process they end up hiding their age. But, do girls ever think about that by doing this they may be making people think they are still immature as maturity is supposed to come by age.

They hide their age because a lot of girls these days they wanna look more younger. Like in some commercials around the globe, there are beauty products (FOR WOMEN ONLY) to make them look more younger. I just realized a lot of women buying those products but usually even it is effective, they can't compete to the time/days/years will passed. They can't defy their limits, women/girl must face it. Because some other time, they will know how to be an old women.

I think if a time machine ever comes, women will be the first to buy it so that they can go down the time when they were still young! :)

There is a lot of pressure from society to look young and beautiful and thus most girls don't reveal their age.
Those anti-aging creams for women sell like hotcakes.
The commercial world places a lot of emphasis on beauty which is good news for cosmetics companies who try to persuade people to buy these creams or whatever they are trying to sell.

Nowadays, girls don't reveal their age as there is alot of competition in looking younger. They feel they will get treated differently if they reveal their real age. Maybe they can only pull guys with money if they are young and beautiful. There are too many reasons.
