There must have been an angel on my shoulder today. I was on my way home from dropping my grandson off at school, I was listening to the radio and singing along with a tune. Suddenly before me was a white car that was quickly heading right toward me. I began to slow down and drive closer to the shoulder of the road. The other car was now driving in the middle of my side of the road. Before I could hammer my hand on the horn, the other driver pulled at his wheel. I cursed him, as I flung my fist at him as he passed by. I began to cry as I realized how fortunate I was. I thought of my children, my grandkids, my family and friends. I thanked God. I counted my blessings.

Glad you're fine but yes that must have been a scary situation. We should all be counting blessings everyday. I'm already at the point where I think we need to live each day as if it were our last because face it, it very well could be. There are some pretty reckless people behind the wheel.

I am truly happy for you that you had angels protecting you. I was in a bad head on car wreck a few years ago. I felt the presence of angels surrounding me. I was hurt but I could have been smashed. I also had 2 people in the car with me, they were ok, minor injuries. I ended up having to have surgery and I still have some problems, but I am so thankful it wasn't worse.

what was that chap doing tryiong to push you off the road. Thank god you arfe safe. I had the same incident few years back, my neioghbour were quite mean then and had recently bought a car, the street was narrow enough only to let a car passby or three person could walk. I was coming down walking with my grocery shopping and as it didn't had any pavement was walking on one side of the narrwo street . My neighbour's son who was eighteen that time purposely drove too fast towards me and I had to climb on the single side stair of a house on the block to let them pass. seeing me jumping on the stair they all laughed and made mocking face. I was so angry with them but what could I do I was staying with my sick mom so had enough of my own troubles to go and fight them. I can never forget how mean they had been to me on that day.

Too often young drivers are the cause of many tragic accidents. They lack the experience and do not have much common sense.

It was one time that I wished I had a cell phone to report the incident.

I wouldn't know whether to be furious at the other bad driver, or do what you did, and count your blessings. These things are quite scary. I can understand your crying. Actually you showed great strength, in thinking of your Family & God, instead of focusing on the negatives. Hope you are okay now.

I am better now, but severely b*tchy. I have been speaking out when something bothers me rather than internalize it.

Every day, every second, we are being blessed with something or the other ElusiveButterfly. Happy that you are safe. When i step on to the road in the morning to come to Office, I praise and thank God all the time. You know most of the time, i catch the bus last minute, i come to the top of the road to catch the office transport at the last minute. The traffic and road manners are zero in my country and the accident rate is very high. I praise God that I go home harmless. You know, we sometimes forget, and we sometimes even dont know, plus, most of the time, we just ignore, how our Lord save us from a lot of bad things. Good luck and take care.

Thank God you are alright. Yes it sure makes you think when you have a close call like that. You know everyday when I say my prayers I always thank God for all the blessings in my life. I am so grateful for so many things and if I always try to focus on that then the bad things don't seem so bad. I think more of us should do this. Again I'm so glad that you are alright.

How lucky your Guardian Angel is there for you. I wonder what happened to the other driver? Maybe he was unwell. That must have been very, very scary, for you. Lucky you had somewhere to go. My body has gone cold thinking about the danger for you. Thank the Lord you are ok.

You had a very lucky escape hun, I hope you are feeling ok now. There are so many idiots on the roads right now, I guess the Guardian Angel Union will be hard pressed to watch over everyone.

Thank the good Lord that you were able to get home and see your family again, I wonder what that other driver was thinking, did he think the same as you, "boy was I blessed today". I know it is very frightening, I had a similar thing happen just after Christmas my son who was visiting from away, took me out for a drive, we were really enjoying the countryside when out of the blue came a jeep, the young fellow was holding his cellphone up to his mouth and his reaction time was very slow, my son swerved and just as the other driver was at eyeball distance he swerved away too. My poor son was so upset we stopped for a few minutes so he could get over the shock enough to drive. He had only just been in an accident before he came to visit where he was stopped at an intersection when somebody came through the lights and smashed into him, fortunately God was with him that day as well.

You are right, there are angels among us and surely there was one traveling with you on your drive. Thankfully you were not hurt. I know it makes you angry to think of the other driver, but forgiveness goes a long way.

It sure sounds like someone was watching over you today!.I am also glad the grandson was not in the car when the whole thing went down.Defensive driving does not mean being slow and unsure. It means watching everything happening around you and to anticipate possible situations.Your being alert definately helped this morning and I hope it continues to be with you.

wow you must have been shook up hon thank goodness you were OK.It really makes you realize how quickly life can change in an instant. Someone was defiantly watching over you to bring your attention to this oncoming car and let you avoid what could and would have been an awful accident.I"m so glad you or the other driver were not injured and hopefully the close call for him makes him pay closer attention to his driving.I'm so glad you with us to post this discussion this evening hugs Cheryl
