I bet those of you who have read this series are as eagerly awaiting the next book as I am (Hurry up, George!) But so far, from A Game of Thrones, a Storm of Swords, A Clash of Kings and A Feast for Crows ... who is your favorite character? It's fine to list more than one, because I know I'm going to. Arya Stark, Jon Snow, "Ned" Stark, Jaime Lannister and Tyrion Lannister are my favorites. So who are yours, and why?

Hmm... Well, at the top of my list, there's Arya Stark for her free-spirit personality and her refusal to conform to the standards of a typical Westerosi lady. There's also her time training under the Faceless Men in Braavos. I've gotta give her a lot of credit. Next on my list, there's Ned Stark, mostly because he accepted Arya's determination to wield a sword, and hired Syrio Forel to train her while in King's Landing. There's also Jon Snow. He rose up from being simply Ned Stark's baseborn son (can't use the other relevant B-word on this site, despite its meaning in the series) to Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Despite being a Lannister, I've also come to admire Tyrion. Like he said in the first book, his greatest weapon is his mind, which could mean he's able to compete with Varys and Littlefinger, although each has his own hidden agenda. But, I really came to respect him during my first read of the third book when, despite having been forced to wed Sansa Stark, he refused to bed her against her will. He may be one person in front of his father and siblings, but behind closed doors he can seem even a bit more honorable.

My favorite character is Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister. Both are very intelligent and use both of their minds and heart when it comes to decision making. My third favorite is probably Daenarys and her dragons.

Hi, i just started reading A Game of Thrones. My first favorite is Jon Snow, he's very intelligent, and understands his situation very well. I actually am loving the dire wolves more =) they show loyalty, intelligence not to mention a great amount of protection to their owners.

Oh, that's a tough question! I have a lot of favourites-- Jon, Arya, Daenerys, and Tyrion top among them. But I don't think there's someone in the book I don't like, aside from perhaps Robb.
