How much does moving affect you?

I have been traveling all my life and therefore I have moved all the time...so much so that sometimes I simply don't know where my home is-
It is very stressful for me because I like to do things in the house or garden that represent me and when I almost make it look and feel as I like I have to go -
Do you get stressed when moving as well; how do you combat it??

We keep moving all the time.I get very stressed when I learn that we have to move again.Earlier,I used to buy every little thing for my home. But I would have to leave them all there or just give them away to friends.I felt so sad that now I have stopped buying things that I like for my home.I have decided that the next time I am going to buy is for my home when I settle down at one place permanently in my home country. For now,I indulge in small pleasures like baking a nice cake, or a fresh bread.I find that indulging in a convenient hobby makes me feel cheerful again. In order to lessen the weight of my baking pans,I have resorted to buying silicone baking pans which are very light weight compared to the heavy metal ones.I am now in what you can call "perpetual moving mode".I don't get all stressed out as earlier.I guess my mind is now used to the fact that we are not going to stay anywhere for an extended period.I now have lists of what to discard and what to give to friends in case I have to move next week or so LOL.I know that we will be miving around for a few more years. So I just hope and keep thinking about my future home that I will decorate according to my specifications and live there.

I have not moved from this house in years and I'm happy. I think moving affects you because of the change of surroundings. Moving to a new area creates the problem of meeting new people and learning the new area. Staying in the same place is easier financially and emtoiontally

There are both advantages and diadvantages in moving a lot. The disadvantage is packing, starting over with friends, neighbors, schools and changes. The advantage which I like to think of is new friends, new beginning, new future. I remembered as a child, moving 11 times in 12 years because everytime we move to a new place, after awhile ppl would want to buy our home or store with a price my parents couldn't refuse. I remember we ended up registering into schools ourselves because it became a habit, my brother and I both attended 4 different schools in 5 years. The advantage was I couldn't join any sports teams because there was a rule that new student couldn't join teams to prevent from all stars going to the same school. Regrets, non. Friends, tons. Moving even saved me from almost failing grade 5.
