It's interesting how we always plan and execute actions to affect the future. Hardly anybody ever tried to change the past.
Allow me to echo a fine poem...
The moving finger writes,
and having writ,
Moves on.
Nor all thy pity nor wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line
nor all thy tears, wash out a word of it

There is nothing we can do, to correct the wrongs of past, is it?
It's public holiday here today, a non working Monday. What else could bring so much joy? My girlfriend on the other hand had to do "compulsory overtime". I promised to pick her up at 5pm. I stayed home, in front of my PC and lost track of time. She called my at about 5.30. I can almost hear the simmering inside her. I'll be there in 15 minutes I said knowing fully well that I could never get there in half an hour even. Nah, I'll take the cab she muttered, ...."see you later", and then she hung up.
So, instead of trying to go back to the past 4.00pm today, I am planning for the future, on how to say sorry and make it up for her. I would rather get back to 4.00pm and drive out to pick her up. But can I?

Great post. Its true, that's why we say, its going forward that counts if we have a little setback. I think its sweet that you're going to make it up to her. And I bet you'll likely try to think how you'll handle it differently next time - like maybe set an alarm on your computer to pop up when its time to get ready to go.
Great poem by a great astronomer by the way.

Exactly!
However, Like riding on a forward moving horse facing backwards, all we can do is see our pasts go by, while only predict what our future holds,no?
The only consolation is that, we can always hope for a better future, even if it might not come true!
However, an on screen alarm does sound tempting

Nah you cannot go back to 4pm and pick her up so yes it would be a good idea to never be late in the future and plan some reminders on your cell phone cos thats what i do and still i get late to pick her up LOL but yes my friend i know a lot of people would like to go back in the past and undo their mistakes but infortunately we cannot do that so yes we have to learn from the past and plan for the future and make sure we do not make the mistakes which we made in the past and as they say and good human is the one who learns from his past and plans and move ahead with his future by takeing actions in his present. And i got one small request tommy could u please answer some of my discussion as well pal and thanks
