Wished you changed your College Major?

I chose Information Technology as a major in college, but sometimes I wish I took a business course like Management or Economics instead. Sometimes I feel like IT isn't as technical as other computer courses, not is it very business relevant as other business courses. Of course all this regret only happens when I'm trying to look for a job, and I see the positions I like requiring people from the business course or with management experience. Do you wish you took another major back in college or do you ever regret the courses that you took up?

I am really happy with what I chose and that is Arts, I majored in English literature and that is because today if you want to learn something, get another degree, you can do so anytime - over the net...I am right now looking at a web design course -

This is a great idea! I've been thinking about going back to school and getting a graduate degree (if and when I have time from work), but getting one on the 'Net is a lot more convenient.

At first I regretted having to go to medical school, only not to finish it because I have realized quite late that I wanted to teach, instead. I thought that it was a total waste of time, effort, and money. I was about to go into clerkship (4th year) when I decided to quit. I then enrolled on a one-year certificate course so that I could get teacher-certified to teach Biology and Life Science. I got accepted to teach in an International School (lucky me!) and got paid high. One of the major reasons was my medical background. Teachers who handle the challenging post I applied to (International Baccalaureate) usually have Master's and PhD's. My medical degree actually saved me! With that experience in the International School (in the Philippines), I landed a job here in the U.S. Now, I'm teaching Sciences in a private Christian school. What I thought was a waste of time helped me out where I am now. You can still use what you have learned. I believe there's always a reason for everything. Otherwise, life is really a series of trial-and-error. You can also figure out what's best for you. Good luck! Happy myLotting!

It's good that your medical background came in handy. So you're a teacher. That to me is a really noble profession. Kudos to you!
