can someone explain the different types of nurses and what they do to me? There are so many abbreviations and I don't know what they mean!

Im not 100% positive on all the requirements to be a practitioner but I believe some have master degrees, but I know for sure some have doctorates. A nurse practitioner as I understand it can do everything a doctor can, and doesnt have to work under a doctor, except for surgical procedures.
