Melinda needs to get over it...

The first thing that struck me about Melinda was how sincere she is. I don't think she is acting at all. I think she is shy and is a bit embarrassed when someone compliments her. I think she is by far the best idol this season.

I agree with you. Melinda has a wonderful voice and a beautiful smile, but I don't think she's really that surprised that she's getting all this great feedback. I mean, the first few times, I can understand. But, this late in the competition, I would think that she has just a tad bit more confidence in herself, her talent, and her performing abilities. I don't mind the smile, but the surprised eyes every single time is getting a little overdone.

She reminds me of a shorter version of SHREK with that smile...ugh.

I dont think she is use to being complimented thats all. I like Melinda and I hope she wins AI.

Sorry sunshine4, I have to disagree with you on this one. I think Melinda is very humble and probably not used to recieving compliments. I'm sure she has watched past seasons of Idol and knows how harsh Simon can be...I bet she is nervous, more than anything. I'm sure she "knows" she can sing but I still find it refreshing to see a contestant being humble. How many times have you seen a contestant argue with the judges on their disaproval of song choice/performance? To me thats much more annoying than watching a GREAT singer blush at sound of a compliment. Just my opinion :)

She's just being humble; would you rather Melinda to act like a diva?

Oh how True. Who cannot be getting a little Sick of it? Honestly, she is not a favorite of mine, and I think people are getting tired of the Fakeness of her. Truly you cannot keep on acting Surprised week after week and suspect to win this. I think her weeks could be numbered if people besides us are getting tired of this.

I do belive that she in the beginning didn´t belive in herself and that she was all innocent, however after getting all these complimats you would think that she would know about it by now and sometimes I can get quite irritated too, however she is a great singer and I am sure that she will do well in both life an on stage.. However - Jordin gets my vote 0)

I personally am so sick of her- I don't even watch her sing usually- I flip the channel.. She is so odd... I'm not into that kind of singing anyways-- so when they rave over her- I'm like are we listening to the same person? Guess I'd never make it in the music world- : ) I wish she would gain some confidence-- she seems pretty timid and suprised each time they do say good things which is everytime!

I do think that she is a great singer, but I also don't like the cutie-surprised expression everytime the judges gave her good comments. I think it is all act, I remember her making spicy conversation with ryan and her comment about simon isn't that great.

I think at first she was truly shocked when the judges complimented her. After all she was always in the back ground before she hit A.I. I think she is a wonderful singer and will go place no matter what.

I would have to agree. I love Melinda and I think she is great but I am tired of her looking scared and acting surprised each week when the judges continually tell her she's the next Idol. And I am also tired of her looking scared on elimination night. She has been one of the top contenders since the show started and I don't think she has anything to worry about. I think she is being sincere but she needs to really gain some confidence. Everyone else knows she is fantastic she needs to believe it too.

I agree!! She is my favorite, by far. I think she has the most talent on the show. But it really kills me when her eyes get all wide and she's like, really? me? You think I'm good? It bothers me and I wont vote for her unless she knocks it off! I voted for Lakisha last week!
