Pres. Bush & his wars

I read in today's paper that President Bush is asking congress for $100 BILLION in the coming year for the "wars" in Iraq & Afghanistan. With all that needs doing in the U.S. and across the globe, that's a lot of moolah for a war that nobody else seems to want. Furthermore, he has vowed to veto any actions by congress that would call for bringing the troops home within a year.
Any opinions out there? Let's here it from both sides.

Afghanistan is Clinton's war, we went there while he was in office.
If you look at the history of it, Iraq is also Clintons war as we have been involved there for over 10 years including the bombing that Clinton had done in preparation for the invasion of Iraq and the removal of Saddam.
The policies and actions of Clinton led to the attack of 9-11, and the public sentiment at that time made the invasion of Iraq possible.
No matter who was in office, sooner or later we were going to Iraq.
As far as the money that Bush has asked for, it is necessary to take care of our troops and see to it that they have the supplies that they need in order to finish the job that we sent them to do.
I read this morning that Defense spending was under 4% of GNP, so the amount is not excessive, it only looks like a lot of money to us regular folk.
As far as time limits, that would not be a wise move at all. That would only encourage the terrorists to back off and let the time run out.
Congress would be doing them a big favor by setting time limits, and that would be helping the very people that our troops are fighting.
That sounds a lot like giving aid and comfort to the enemy, and their is nothing like setting a time limit to ensure our failure in Iraq.
That is why Congress needs to appropriate the needed funds and then sit back and allow the military to do the job that it was sent to do.
Otherwise, what is the point of even being there in the first place?

Ugh, I've really never supported the Iraq war because to me, it seems all so senseless but what does a 16-year old really know? I still don't think it's right and sending billions of dollars is really quite catastrophic because there will be no benefits for us or the US and Iraqi soldiers there in Iraq. Even though I'm not American, this war has affected not only the US, but other countries too and we're all expressing our remorse over it. I just hope that US would just put those money to good use and have some sense and bring their troops back and STOP THE war!

All I can say is bring on 2008.Nothing and i mean nothing will be done with this Republican president and this Demoocrat Congress. With the next president, even if he/she is a republican, there will be some hope for the end of the war.

Bush want more funding to kill enemies in iraq.. iraqi ppl are enemy to bush ?? who is enemy now??..no more saddam.. . i dont think even saddam is enemy for bush?? why is this guy wasting time and money in iraq. US lost plenty of money already.
And then why is this guy trying to have more hold in iraq diplomacy. May be oil resources has to do something with it.
I have got an important issue to discuss with friends and myloters who know about iraq war little bit. When you talk to the soldiers, they tell a different story. Why are so many wounded soldiers wanting to go back to Iraq?
