Well I first try putting some bengay on my forhead, temples and back of my neck along with drinking some coffee. If that doesn't work then I'll move on to medication but I try that first so that if I can avoid taking something I will. That way also I don't get used to the medication and have it become ineffective.

You're smart about the medication. Plus who knows what its prolonged use can do to your liver. Do you get migraines or really really bad headaches. Some think a migraines is just a bad headache.

I get both actually. I have bad headaches every day but migraines happen as well. I get one several times a month. Comparing a migraine to a headache is like comparing a mountain to a mole hill. Migraines are far removed. I prefer to try and avoid taking medication if I can since we don't know what the long term effects will be. I prefer knowing what damage I might cause.
Thank you also for best response. That was nice to see in my box

I have had chronic headaches and migraines since I was in first grade. I am now 28. They only get worse. They don't know why I get them. They just like me to get a ctscan to make sure I don't have brain cancer once a year.
I have found the best relief is massage. I always have tension headaches, so I always have big knotts in my neck. Massages really help me relax and sometimes ease my migraine. I have also found that singing seems to ease my headaches and my stress level.

Do you get migraines or do you mean really really bad headaches? Migraines are caused by a larger condition and can be food related - do you eat a lot of MSG? You may be triggered by light or smells as well. Not by stress though - that's one of the myths about them.
Tension headaches are different.
Massage is great for so many things. Its also good - for a migraine, to soak your feet in warm water.
For migraines its also good

no, i dont prefer taking medication and caffeine, it only makes my migraine worse. I just use massage theraphy, and i also drink lots of water, can be cold. Because sometimes migraine can be caused by too much heat, so i stay in cool places or places with fresh air. Also i also use ice pack on my head, it helps too. To avoid it you should eliminate or avoid the factors the causes it like sleeping late, irregular meals, and stress. Do some medidation too, or some relaxation exercise.

Do you get migraines or really really bad headaches? Some think they're synonomous - that a migraine is a bad headache. A headache is part of a migraine, a migraine part of a larger condition that can include seizures.
Massasge is good for so many things! And meditation and relaxation on a daily basis for sure.

I have never used massage therapy I bet it helps. I take pills all the time for relif but I get them more then I should sometimes. Like I have had a migrane for 3 days in a row not all and all about the samme time. I am on immetrex but it's not good to take them everyday so i try taking ibroprofen first and then if it still hurts after a couple of hours then I take it.
