the only time i read kids books is when i'm reading to my grandkids or listening and helping my youngest daughter....she is 9 and is supposed to read for atleast 15 minutes each day...so we often pick chapter books together..

I think reading to kids is quite important and it's nice to hear you do so. So many kids get turned on or off to reading based on what they see their parents do and their parents' attitudes about reading, learning, and education.

I've heard that reading to children and making funny voices is quite a rewarding experience. How do you work with children? Are you a teacher or babysitter?

I remember a couple of old classics that I read as a child, that I recently re-read for fun. Most of the time though, I just read children's books when I am looking after children. Having kids around is a great excuse to read those old books all over again and remember old times.

It is true that when babysitting or something along that nature, you may see a book and pick it up and start to reading. There's nothing wrong with being a kid again from time to time!

I end up reading a lot of children's stories since I work with kids and since I do a lot of babysitting, and I really enjoy it. It does remind me of a simpler time in my life, and some of the books do have gorgeous illustrations. One book comes to mind, I think it might be called The Sea of Tranquility. I'm not quite sure. Either way, ther are some AMAZING children's books out there.

I've never heard of the Sea of Tranquility. How many years ago did it come out? I must have missed it when I was a kid. There are a lot of good children's books out there and reading them can remind you of earlier times when the biggest worries were being home before dark...oh, to be young again.

I'm a preschool teacher so yes, I do read children's picture books. Sometimes I think I enjoy the story more than the kids do! lol

The stories are often compelling and very intriguing for children and just often funny and enjoyable for adults, so there's nothing wrong with that!
