I have yahoo messenger. I've had it for several years. I've never tried the MSN messenger. I really like the yahoo messenger, I've never had a problem with it. I like the fact that you can show available to certain people. But theres so many gadgets with yahoo messengers.
Which one do you have? Which one do you prefer?

I used to use Yahoo Chat - I inhabited a lot of chatrooms on there. When I decided that online chat was wasting large amounts of my life, I basically removed the sofwtre form my PC and blocked the chat servers at my firewall - a little excessive, but it broke my habit. :-)
I now use MSN, because a couple of sites that I Moderate use it to allow their moderators to talk to each other. Most of my friends use MSN, so it's handy for me to have.
I also found that Yahoo Messenger gave me more sofwtare problems - it would sometimes lock up on me and make my keyboard produce the wrong characters when keys were pressed. This was the version of Messenger running in the year 2000 or 2001.
So, now I'm MSN only.

I have MSN Messenger but rarely use it. When I first got this new computer, I was automatically logged on to MSN Messenger when I logged online. But since my daughter uses MSN Messenger it is no longer logged on when I log in.
But, when I did have it on all the time, on two occasions I saw friends on line and made an effort to talk to them. The problem with this was that I couldn't get away from the conversations. It took me away from doing other stuff and I couldn't figure out how to get out without being rude. I prefer message boards so I can reply when I want, also giving me time to think of responses.

I have both Msn Messenger and Yahoo Messenger and I find them both to have pro's and con's although I rarely use yahoo as many of my contacts even my yahoo contacts use Windows Live (the newer version of msn) with their yahoo address. This means I have no reason to really use yahoo. But I like the little gadgets on yahoo like being able to draw on the screen but msn allows you to play games with the person you are talking to like naughts and crosses, minesweepers, poker (there is a rather long list.) Like I said though they both have pro's and con's for me. The con's being yahoo - I have about 4 contacts on there, msn - tends to crash after you have more than 10 convassations running and very often I have to just appear online to a select few. Although Msn now allows you to appear offline and just choose who you chat too.

I've been using MSN Messenger for about 7 years now. I downloaded Yahoo Messenger when I heard about the free PC to PC calls, but then I got Skype and I had no use for Yahoo Messenger any more. I think MSN is better, but that's probably because I've been using it for so long and I'm set in my ways! x

Yes I have both id's of yahoo messenger and msn messenger. I usually used my yahoo messenger because most of my friends and relatives have one. Yahoo's more commonly used than msn but now its integrated. You can see your msn contacts on yahoo messenger ;-)

I have MSN messenger as most of my friends use it. I don’t see there is any problem with it as long as I can chat and communicate. LOL

I have both but I prefer to use MSN messenger. I think it works better and it looks professional. Besides, many of my friends use it. And my mainjor email account is Hotmail, therefore, when I have a new email, it'll notify me.
