Have you ever felt like you didn't want to study because it was too boring? Maybe you wanted to do something else more fun instead? I have a hard time working myself up to go study because it is so unenjoyable. How do you get motivated to study? i would like to hear some opinions on that because i have exams coming up soon and desperately need some motivation to study.

I have also got the same problem, i also never really feel like studying. To motivate myself into studying what i do is that i just think of the consequences of my failing. I just keep on thinking of this and this makes me sit on the study table for hours. Or i just divide the number of chapters with the number of days and i just say to myself that 1 or 2 chapters a day thats not more. I can do it.

When I was at college for three years and had to do various assignments I would much rather be on the internet or watching tv, but I made a compromise that if I studied for an hour or two then my reward would be an hour or two of watching tv or the internet, if you compromise and do a bit of each, and try not to study for too long, pace yourself then it won't get like a chore. In the Summer months I used to get the lounger out and sit in the garden and study, it worked for me!

That's my normal feeling. Not wanting to study and till now, I haven't figured out what motivates me, but I guess a pice of information I see on the internet, relating to my school work, which i'm familiar with, gets me in the mood, at least for a while... or maybe when I get in a discussion and they are saying something relating to what I have read... I guess that's all...

It is hard to find motivations to do something sooooo boooooring :D . I am in high school and I know how hard is to stay away from the computer or other things much more interesting than studying . . . Maybe you should think that you only have to stay and focus on your lesson just a few hours and then you'll be free to do whatever you want . . . Or think that you should really start studying because your future depends on this . . . Make an effort now in order to stay relaxed in the near future . . . I hope this helps . . .;)

If you study for just 20 min a day per subject you are more likely to remember what you studied. i work full time, have 3 kids, and go to school 3 nights a week. i am doing my gen ed's and going to start the nursing program next fall. i know how hard it can be to study. sometimes it seems worse than it is. don't worry about studying for hours. just 20 min a day. it is really helpful and was a suggestion from my psych instructor last semester. when the bad grades start rolling it that will motivate you too. just remember that you can't make up for bad grades very easily. better just to get good ones from the start. good luck and i hope this helps.

i dont like to study. in fact, i hate school ever since i can remember. but now im on my college and im still studyin and still hating it. what i always do so i could drag myself to school is to think of the things i would like if i go to school such as making new friends, gimmicks afterwards, field trips, and of course - my allowance. i wont get any money if there's no school and i like having money to spend. also, i think of how it would affect my future if i stopped studyin' - its already hard to find a job if you're a college graduate then what's more if you only finish high school. so i think of those things, and i manage to go to school everyday. but i skip classes and be late for classes as much as i could. hehe.
