Why do you think so many kids get in the habit to smoke?

I just want to know everyone's honest opinion. I'm only 16 and I've never smoked and never will. I'm totally against it. So do you think it is because their parents are not strict enough or because they were raised wrong? please give me our opinion.

I will blame only the parents for the children getting in to the smoking andother adictions. It is the resposibility of the father andmother to teach good habits to children. If let loose, thechildren will get spoiled. I request that all parents shouldmonitor the chikd's behaviour and correct them if required.

its not always the parents fault that kids get to smoke at a young age, sometimes its becoz of the influence of the environment and their peers.

Yeah your right but their parents should start teaching them these things at a VERY young age. Thats what my parents did and they are both smokers me nor my brother smoke. Hes 19 and im 16 I think my parents did a great job.

One can't really blame this all to parents you know. Kids tend to be more independent nowadays and they tend to try things on their own out of curiosity. Good for you, your a type of kid who's clean and got no vice, keep up the good work... And for those kids out there who at their very young age knows how to smoke already, well for one the influence of their peers and the environment they're living in. I've known a lot of parents out there who are very nice to their kids, brought them up so nicely but still they learned smoking. Thats case to case basis you know.

I think it is because the parents are too strict with their children. By them being too strict the kids then rebel and start doing bad things to get their parents back.
