Since our girlfriends or boyfriends are one of the most important people in our lives, we use to call them in the most especial name.
"HONEY" is the name most use by lovers. (I think so)
"SWEETHEART" and "lOVE" are also use often. And "DARLING" too.
Other also call their partner "SUGAR", "HONEY PIE", "SWEET", "HONEY PIE", "HONEY BUNCH" and "SWEETY PIE"...
How'd you call your partner? Do you use any term of endearment?

We both call eachother Baby. I think we started this because of movies or songs .. but basically its a term of endearment. A sign of you are mine, you belong to me. I've often thought it odd also. But I'm guilty for using the term. LOL
Other names used: Honey; Love Muffin; Snuggles; Babycakes; Sweetheart; Babe; Love; plus a million other sweet names based on something that someone said or did once and we coined the personal term based on that event .

i call my husband, "mahal" and he calls me that endearment too. mahal is a filipino term for LOVE. when we were just boyfriend/girlfriend, he calls me love but he feels that the endearment doesn't complement us that much then he thought that mahal would be better since we are filipinos and he said that he loves me so much :)

i am an asian girl.so we usually use the chinese name as my ex was chinese and i can speak chinese too eventhough i am not mix with chinese.we used the word "laogong" and "laopo".it means hubby and wife in chinese.after that we started using darling and sweetheart.he prefer me to call him with the word darling.he did not really like the using the word "honey".i do not know why.sometimes we just make the word sweetheart to be short to sweetie only.easier to call

i call my partner by name. I see many people call only by name atleast in front of others. That makes them so beloved to you and vice versa.calling by name i believe makes u much closer to the person and avoids all formal addresses.hence i call only by name

You have a point. At times and some people fine it a lil odd to call a person other than his name. :)

My boyfriend calls me Baby Girl or Lady. And I call him Baby boy or by his name. I'm not sure exactly why he started calling me lady but he has for so long, and just the way he says it is sweet. But when he is talking about a Lady, he says it totally different so I know he is talking to or about me when he says it in a sweet way.

I don't have a gf, but when I will have, I wouldn't be calling her by one name as a rule. Sometimes I would call her by her name, and depending on the mood of our conversation I will use whatever comes spontaneously.
