Actually I agree. One night I was watching TV and the show I was watching was sad, and I was crying. Our 12mth old beagle came over to me and looked at me with her big brown eyes, and then gave me one little lick on the cheek. She'd never done that before. She licks us all the time, but it's usually a greeting or she'll lick us all over, but not just one little lick like that. It was almost as though she sensed I was sad from the show and wanted to show her support. The biggest test of her feeling the way we feel will be in a few weeks when I have surgery on my coccyx (tailbone). I'll be pretty sore for quite a few weeks after it (I'll be in hospital for about 4 days so she'll miss me then), so it will be interesting to see if she treats me differently. And whether she'll sense that I'm not 100% and be gentler with me (she can be kind of boisterous). We can only wait and see I guess.
