So today, someone told me that using foil to cook (I was lining a cookie sheet with foil when someone said this to me) can up your odds of getting Alzheimer's? Is this true? I had never heard this before and been cooking on foil for years.

I heard this too. I think they debunked it. There is a high level of aluminum in the brain of Alzheimers and Lou Gerig patients. They don't know whether it is a result of the disease or a cause. I read that tin foil has aluminum oxide on it and so aluminum metal never ever touches our food. We do get most of our aluminum from food but only 1 percent of ingested aluminum is absorbed so we should be fine.

This also begs the question, Is aluminum based deoderants harmful for you as well? Im a little skeptical that the aluminum can infiltrate your skin somehow and get to your brain.

I have never heard of this before. My grandmother had alzheimers and so did a few others in my family. the Dr's never once mentioned it was caused from aluminum foil they said it was hereditary.
