I'm not familiar with addhd meds, but I came across your post and I couldn't bear not to try to help. My suggestions is to avoid cafeine drinks, like in some sodas, because she might get a little bit excited. Try to have her start a new hobbie, like painting and yoga. Sometimes it helps, to relax and focus. And maybe you can asked your physician for other good solution. May I ask something, did she had that condition for a long time? How was it diagnosed? Hope to hear from you Pvaughn and Welcome to mylot! Enjoy posting! (^^,)

Oh thank you! I have a 4 years old daughter. And sometimes I watch a local talk show about Add children. It is not a very recognize condition here, in the Philippines quite rare too or sometimes associated with like "gifted child" behavior. But I wonder sometimes about my daughter. She is brilliant, but sometimes I found her hyperactive and unfocus. I don't know if it is just me overreacting, because she is the only kid here. And she is only going to school this year, so I still don't know about how will be her behavior in school. Can you give me some advice about it? It would be well appreciated. And what is the difference between Add and Addhd? Thank you very much. (^^,)

It seems that add and adhd are the same these days. My granddaughter when diagnosed they called it add-hd-ld at the time. Now they would just call it adhdld. The ld stands for learning disorder.

I have a friend, she's 40, and has struggled with having addhd herself and add diagnosed in her son. She swears by this one natural product that she started using about a year ago. It's called Focus and you can find out about it on this website designed by a clinical psychologist - Nativeremedies.com
I know that she changed her family's diet and you can get nutrition information on that website, too. I hope this info is of some use to you and your granddaughter. I like the fact that it is a website designed by a psychologist, it seems as if he would have his pulse on the matter, doesn't it? Best wishes.
