if that sort of computer problem occurs, my first step would be to disconnect my modem, then wait till my pc "calms" down, if not i'll try to close every program that went running. after that, i'll do a systemwide virus/malware scan, that's checking system files and registry. finally, do a restart/reboot to check if my pc boots up normally.

..if a virus is found and cannot be contained, i'll shut down my pc at the main plug (totally powered off), then power it back but the pc must boot up in "safe mode"..command prompt setup. i'll rename the infected file to a safer filename (ex. lproxy.dll to lproxy.dl). then do a system reboot..a virus scan on the renamed file should be done then to clean, and rename it back..

If your computer went crazy and starting opening all sorts of windows and programs the first i would do is cut of the internet connection immediately by pressing the button on top of my modem. This would ensure nothing else could get in or out just in case someone was trying to attack my pc. Secondly i would run a full system virus scan and have a look what the results are. If a virus is found i would try and delete it obviously but if i could not then i would try and contain it. If there IS a virus and it cant be contained i would then re-install Windows and start over. Being the well prepared type i already have my important data backed up both online and offline so that would not be a problem. After reinstalling windows i would just put back all software and information and install security software but making sure its MORE secure than before.

I think the best thing to do is to call an IT expert to overhoul the existing programmes and put new ones. Fire fox wall has proved very useful in proteting my computer from undesired pop ups for example! So I suggest you contact a local eaxpert on computer programmes

Ya, sometime the computer will go crazy and open a lot of stuff due to few reason. May i know do you mean your computer automatic open up internet browser automatically? normally this is due to spyware syntom. I suggest you to install anti-spyware ,like "spybot" and update it, then do a full scan of your computer. I hope this help you to resolve the problem. :)

in any kind of problems, first would always be to backup all important files, second would be to run an anti virus/ anti spyware and if that still doesn't work troubleshoot and for the last option reformat the whole system.

If something like this were to happen, my first step would be to disconnect from the Internet, either by disconnecting a cable or disabling the network device in use. If I was working on something important, I would try to save it, then press and hold the power button to do a hard shutdown. I would leave the machine off for 15-30 seconds, then power on and boot the machine into Safe Mode. Since I always create restore points before and after making changes to Windows, I would try to revert to an earlier time before doing anything (Since most people do not, I can't recommend this to everyone). After using System Restore, I would run full malware scans on my system. If there are infected files, I would try to disinfect or quarantine them. If neither can be done, I will take note of the filenames, then boot from a live distro CD/DVD and rename the files from a clean, independent environment. If system files were infected, which is often the case with today's malware, I would replace them from an OEM Windows CD. Personally, I have security software that tends to be too strong to allow non-grayware infections, and I also have full image archives of my operating system (created in Acronis) as last-resort backup. But it all depends on what's available. We work with what we have.

i would try to close everything and if that didnt work i would quickly reset my computer so that it stops. you should also scan your computer for viruses because a virus is probably the reason why files are opening. i recommend using kaspersky antivirus. the realtime scanning is less of a hassle compared to norton antivirus where my computer would sometimes get very slow because it was quarantining/removing viruses in realtime.

1. disconect from the internet by unplugging my modem. 2. close all the crazy open programs with the task manager (Ctrl Alt Delete) 3. run anti virus and spyware scanners. 4. check behind you for friends laughing there heads off at the prank they played on you.
