Blossoming Hawthorn - Blossoming Hawthorn in Spring.

Since we are now well into the Spring season, I would like to share a poem with you all, entitled "Spring". Spring Turn of the Wheel, begin again with the season of rebirth, Bulbs and corms push up their shoots from underneath the earth In preparation to present a sheet of vivid gold, Whilst dots of green in trees are seen, as new leaves do unfold. The sun shines down, the light rain falls nurturing the earth, The new life stirs, pushes again, increasing in height and girth, Then suddenly and silently, it can't hold back any more, the buds all burst, and a colour splash covers the country floor. Leaves on the trees break open, bathing themselves in the sun, Children rejoice, run and leap for Spring has just begun, Playfully the newborn leaves flutter and dance in the breeze, Crocuses, daffodils, snowdrops of white, bloom beneath the trees. Ans so is born a brand new life, the Wheels's Turn begins again, Stronger the Sun, warmer the breeze and softer becomes the rain, Rabbits are scurrying, bleating new lambs, foals are finding their feet, Birds are gathering in the trees, singing their songs so sweet. Spring is here! Spring is here! Waters babble their message of cheer, The distant cuckoo's call echoes the message so clear, The church bells are chiming merrily, a newly-born baby cries As Spring begins, a tear of joy I wipe from beneath my eyes. Copyright ©By Darkwing 2007 The weather has been wonderful here, in England, for the past week... flowers are blooming, the leaves are bursting open, presenting a splash of green in the woods and in hedgerows and the birds are singing until eight at night. I love this season... it's so fresh and alive. I tried to capture all this in the poem, which I hope you enjoyed reading. Brightest Blessings for the Spring Season and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thank you Gabs. The weather has been very kind to us but they say it's going to break up by the weekend. We shall see! I don't mind travelling in the rain. :-)

Thank you Wuhaihong and you're very welcome to the encouragement. You should be proud of yourself, coming into a forum where you have to use only English with the intention of bettering your understanding of the language. This is not an easy thing to do and I think you should give yourself a pat on the back. Thank you for reading my poem. I am glad you enjoyed it. :-)

Congratulations Darkwing. You captured not only the beauty of the season and the beginnings of new life, but something more. There is the joy felt by every part of nature and the hope that new life brings after the dismal period of hidden life. Reading this increased my desire to return to England again. I had no desire to return there after losing my brother and sister in law, but finding good friends over there and re-awakening memories of the last springtime spent with my brother, makes me yearn for the day we have that garden party!

Awwwwww, Cloud... thank you so much. It would be great if you could manage the journey, just to see the beauty of this country one more time. Certainly, Littlehampton would be so different for you and just along the road, in Bognor, there is Hotham Park, which captures the nature of the countryside but a few yards from the seafront. It is a park, set amongst many trees, with picnic tables and benches, a bandstand and a few other things to amuse. Then, you will find squirrels bounding around you, eating nuts and the crumbs you drop from the picnic and a whole lot of different species of birds. But, to my mind, none of these beats the countryside in which I live, the South Downs, woods, fields and millponds, and I also love the North Yorkshire Moors. You know, when the Moon is full over the Moors, particularly late Summer, it seems so much bigger and closer than anywhere else I have ever been! I love the Moon. There I go... dreaming again. lol. Typical Air Sign! Anyway, I hope this tea party comes to fruition. It would be great to meet up with a few of you! Brightest Blessings my friend.

Ah, but I cant award it to myself, and moreover... to me, it's just words that come into my head in appreciation of what I have in this life. Thank you again for your continued support and encouragement, my friend, as well as your wisdom. x

My English friends have increased my desire to return there one more time. Maybe ... Thanks for the best response, but you deserve it for such a lovely poem.

As you must well know, my birthday is on the first day of Spring and this is a reminiscent poem for me, especially the part where it says, a newly-born baby cries. Was that me? Perhaps not, because I wasn't born in the country; I was born in the middle of a seaside town and all you would hear was seagulls. lol. Thank you for sharing this birthday poem with me, Mum. x

Thank you Ant... yes, you were in my mind when I wrote that as I remember I think, the day you were born, better than you! lol. I never regretted a thing though. Thank you very much for your response and for reminding me about that! :-)

I do love reading poetry and I even occasionally pen some. While my own poetry is mostly dark and morose, you have a flair for writing 'sunny' poetry, that which makes the readers feel better and happier. You have a good power of description. Though the weather out here is far from pleasant, your poetry made me remember the good days. Thanks so much and god bless!

Thank you Vanilla, but all my poetry isn't 'sunny'. I've penned a few dark and sad ones too. Thank you for so many pleasant words, and for taking the time to read and comment on my poem. Brightest Blessings.
