What type of mouse do you use?

I recently switched my mouse on our "big" computer with a mouse that came with my "older" computer. The mouse we use now is a laser mouse, not wireless though. I love it and it is sooooooo much better then that dang ball that you have to clean!
What type of mouse do you have? Do you like it? Anyone using wireless? I've heard a lot of bad things about the wireless mouse being super slow. Any truth to that?

I love my nuetered mouse :) It is so much better then the one with the little ball. I would not want to go back to that if I have a choice. I tried a wireless and ended up taking it back. It just didn't work right for me. The curosr would jump and disappear. It also didn't always move when I moved the mouse so I'd be fighting with it to get it to where I want it to. I might be willing to try again with my new computer but for now I'll stick with having it wired.

I just bought a new wireless keyboard and mouse. I think you heard wrong about the wireless mouse being slow. I took me quite some time to get used to it and the cursor seemed to just fly along my screen. It is too fast for my grandchildren and I have to slow it down for them. There is also a lot of gadgets on it but I have yet to learn how to use them.

I think the "slowness" could be a combination of low batteries or even the "older" models.

I use to have a wireless mouse, but last week it wouldn't work, so have a new mouse. The real problem with my wireless mouse was the high number of batteries I used every week. The mouse worked fast. My mouse is a Kensington and is a three button optical mouse and is corded.

Batteries seems to be the biggest issue with the wireless that I'm seeing. I think I'll end up buying another laser/optical scroll version like the logitech one I have. I love it and it's quick. A wire isn't a huge issue with me on my desktops anyways. Perhaps with laptops I would feel differently.

like my optical mouse. I just can't stand those trackball ones which I used to use. The motion was not smooth and I had to keep cleaning the accumulated dirt. Wireless mouse is gone - depending on if it is e.g. bluetooth or radio wave. I have a radio wave one that I packed back into the box. It is just not reliable enough, next laser mouse, The resolution of the laser mouse is even better than my last couple of opticals as well, which is nice, more comfortable, and faster compare with "old ball mouse". Yes i absolutely agree with you, it save our time to clean up the roller ball, and most of the mouse spoilt cause by the roller ball. So far i seldom see "optical mouse" spoilt, unless the board problem.

Thanks! Seems to be a concensus that optical mouse is best.. but a bit of confusion as to how many prefer the wireless. I think the battery issues would bug me.

We were then using the MS wireless mouse but my husband bought a new one which is an IBM optical mouse. Wireless mouse are hard to use and expensive because you have to replace the battery over and over again. I am now happy with our optical mouse because it is a laser one with blue light on top and red backlight on its laser part. And it is kind of small unlike the common ones. We are not using mousepads since then also. Our optical mouse fits my 2 year old daughter hands whenever she wants to use the pc for her barney videos.

Hi hockeygal, I use a laser mouse, it is so much better than those old ones with the sticky ball. I do not want a wireless one, I don't see the need for it, how far away do you really need to go with a wireless mouse? The laser ones are the best.

i got an ordinary scroll mouse alongwith my pc when i purchased. later i purchased the optical mouse as the scroll mouse always collected dust and needed regular cleaning. i am happy with optical mouse now, not a cordless one though.

i use a wired optical mouse. the mouse name is Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. i much prefer optical mice to mice with balls on the button because you have to clean those frequently or else they stop moving properly. i have not tried wireless mice before. they would be easier to use but i heard that they can be less reliable than the conventional wired ones.

I know with the wireless I got fed up having to change the batteries so often so I changed back and this is what I'll stay with. I thought it was slow because the batteries were getting low.

It was a MICROSOFT costly radio wave mouse but it just doesn't work as well as a normal optical mouse with wire. :P

Well i guess im still in the old ages then. I still use a mouse with the ball in the bottom of it and i have had it for about seven years. Its a Microsoft two button mouse with a scroll wheel and its pretty good. My biggest complaint with it is that the wire sometimes get tangled because its a ps/2 connection and has to be plugged into the back of my pc. It does need cleaning now and then but not once a week or anything like that.
I think i am going to get a new one soon though and i am going to get a optical mouse.
