I worked in a big organisation for 20 years. So many bosses came and gone but most of my colleques remained and worked for more than the years I worked. We used to be friendly with each other while working but after leaving the organisation the friendship slowly vanished. None of them telephoned me after one year whereas outside the office I had a few friends with whom I maintain friendship - vice versa. Why it is so.

It can be so many things, that why you guys lost touch. When you were working with them, did you have somekind of relationship outside the work also? I feel like I'm friends with my colleques, but not that kind of friends that I would like to hang with them so much after the work. At least for me it's like that real friends stick together no matter what, and from work I ain't searching real friends.

This also happens to me and my friends whenever we finish school/college.
We don't phone each other, sometimes I would get a rare phone call from an old buddy but it still doesn't mean I will hear from him or he would hear from me all the time.
I guess it's just that if that person isn't right in front of your eyes, slowly he vanishes from your memory.
By the way, if you miss your friends just call them. I'm sure they'll be glad to hear your voice.

During the tenure of my service with that organisation I went out of way to help lot of my colleques. In fact I felt hurt for not calling me as I acted a best friend to them all through years. Therefore I do not want to telephone them. Thank you anyway for your advise.
