How do you study for exams? Dou you study long before? or you just wait till the period for exams gets close by before you start. As for me, i have a very bad habit of waiting for the exams to get really close by before I begin any serious studies and I know I have to change that before it gets to late, so ... give your opinion.

I often wait till the period for exams get close by and then begin to study. Why i always do that? one reason is that i think study is very boring and i want to relax and have fun.Another reason is that even if i study everyday,i still have to review the lesson when the exams come.Somebody thinks that the earlier you review and study, the faster you will forget what you've leart. In fact,we need to study step by step,if you don't focus on its process, then you won't get a good result. It's not easy to learn ,but when you enjoy it ,you will not find it hard.SO we must overcome our idleness, and change our bad habbit.I always tell myself if you do it,you'll have a chance to win ,nothing is impossible, you must make the impossible possible. It depends on yourself.

Personally, I too think that it's always better to study much earlier before the exams periods come by, but I'm always unable to do that, but we just have to keep hoping for the best, like my friend stated above. Thanks for participating and by the way, are you through now?

I'm like you in this case. I can get ready for exams only 10 days before. before that i only keep thinking hard that I should start up with my preparations but I am always unable to do that.

boy,I think personaly that you are doing right,if you study from the begining you will forget at the exam time, these are my personal experiences.
some tips for studing which have benefitted me:
You have to get focus for your test, yo don't have to distract watching Tv or playing music, you can do that when you have finished to study. Try to study and a place well lighted and don't be in bed because makes you sleepy.
I recommend you to start study early and gradually because if you start late you won't remember all the information because maybe you can get nervous and studied so fast than you won't remember.
I underline the most important paragraphs, do some summaries if i have time and try to write to remember the principal things and discuss with your partners. in the exam you won't forget that arguess!. Good luck! ;)

Wow, thanks for the tips. I could do with these because I'm having a hard time studying for my exams now (the exams are not so close) because of my bad habit of not studying early enough that has got me into trouble several times. I really want to stop that... also, I get easily distracted and I'm also working on that. Another bad reading habit I think I possess is that I read randomly, that is, I hardly read from one chapter to the next- don't know if that's really a bad habit, but all the same, I hope to change all these so I can improve my grades.

I also start studying when only 15-20 days are remaining and also hope to get first class ( i even Managed it some times LOL)
And after every exam i think that in upcoming semester I will start studying early.
But this never happened till now.
But i till think that it will happen next year.Lets hope for the Best??
Are you having your exams??
Best of Luck if any.

When I was still study, I used to study near the exam times. But not for all subjects, some subjects I learned a month before the exam (specially if the materials are too much), and no worry to repeat it again before exam because it's easier for me to remembered if I've already learned before.
Usually I studied Math near the exam, because I'm weak with this subjects, and I try to have short memory with the formulas. So if the subjects related with numbers, I prefer did it near the exam.
But I think all people has different capabilities, so it's for me... I don't think it's also suit to others.

hi eseomame
yes, you are right that you will have to change your habit of waiting for the exams and then studying day and night. make a change in your schedule and study for some time daily and i am sure that you'll definitely feel the change.

to tell you the truth, i'm the same as you waiting until the exam is just around the corner i'll study very hard. i know this is not a good way to study last minutes. I try to study before my exam but it just so hard. Maybe i'll try again and again until it become my habit to study first not study last minutes.

Well, being the crammer that I am, I usually study the night before the exam. I think that this suits me well for I tend to forget things sometimes if I studied it a long time ago. However, one must not forget to focus during class discussions for if you do, the lessons would be "implanted" in your brain and you would remember it come the exam.
