I am a survivor junkie. I would definitely watch a winter survivor. I think that would be a great idea!

Oh, that would be so hard to do! Yes, I would definitely watch. But, it may just be too dangerous for the contestants. Human beings really aren't built to live in the cold without fire and warm clothing. So, if it is done like many of the other shows in the past, some people would have to start out with nothing or very little. There is more chance that someone would lose fingers and toes and I don't think I would like that to happen.
I think the whole premise of the show is that you are stranded on a deserted island, like in a shipwreck. I think that's why they do the show in those warm places.

I agree that it would be dangerous, but I think that it would be do-able. I think that somewhere here in Alberta or in BC would be a good place. They would have to have fire already, but they could make their own shelter and get there own food. Water would be easy...melt the snow. They would have to be given maybe two pairs of gloves.
I think it would be a fab idea! I would watch for sure!

Good Idea and Yes I would definitely watch! I think I'm getting tired of the same old "it's hot" and "it's sandy" complaints. Plus there are a lot of the same challenges from season to season. If they had a "Survivor Antartica" or something, it would be so cool b/c they wouldn't be able to do the same challenges they do in the warmer climates. You should suggest it to CBS :)

I know they would have to make some allowances for health's sake..but it seems to me that it would be great reality tv!!! I think they would get a great response...Of course I've watched every season since the second one...so ..I'm a shoe-in for watching Survivor under any conditions!!!

Yes I would watch. I maybe very hard to watch people suffer from the cold. But I bet that is too big of a risk for the network!

That is a very good question and yes, I certainly would watch it. I love watching Survivor and that would be a nice change and to see what kind of challenges they would come up with in the snow and colder weather. It would be dangerous as other members mentioned since it would be tough living out there for a long period of time. They would have to provide them with some things to be safe.

I think it would make a great show. It would change it up a little and defintiely make it more interesting. They could have all sorts of new challenges and the contestans could live in igloos ( which can be surprisingly warm) Of couse as many have said they would have to make exceptions for the weather, but I think that would be expected. It is possible for people to live in cold climates if they know what they are doing. I also think it would be a great way for the show to draw in veiwers who have stopped watching.

Oh yes-- that would be great! I would watch it- I love Survivor and I watch them all.. Give it a twist-- Fire would be so important then- I wonder if they could keep everyone safe in the winter though- Might have a hard time- with frostbite and cush-
I'd surely watch it though!

I'd definitely watch it. I haven't missed an episode of Survivor since it started. And, to be honest, the lack of sclothing doesn't matter much to me. I can do without ever seeing Shane or Rocky sans shirt. I like the strategies and psychologies that players use.
On the other hand, Burnett knows what's best for ratings and I don't think parkas beat out bikinis in the demographic.

I would watch that it would eb great to see who could handle beign cold, hungry and maybe wet for days befroe they decide to give up even if they did it in the summer in a cooler area of the world. Would definatly see who wanted to win the money and it woudl eb great to see some of the tougher peopel mentally give up casue fo the cold or lack of tropical beach.

I think I would watch it. It seems to me they are running out of ideas to keep things interesting (at least to me), so I'd like to see something different.

Oh yeah, that would be great. They would have the medical team close by, and probably have to keep close watch for signs of hyperthermia (sp?) or frostbite. But it could totally be done.
I think it would be a real test of survival. The contestants they have now really don't study up on basic survival techniques though. In the first one, they knew where they were going, and remember how Sue kept saying there was tapioca to eat?! (Gee, that got annoying!) But they really don't read up on the location to see what local things they could use.
Even when the one tribe had local people come teach them how to find things they could eat and how to cook them, they didn't use that information, just ate that one time. Sort of like 'give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man to fish, he eats for a lofetime' only they wasted that reward.
But I think in a colder climate, they would need to be told to read up on the location so they can survive. It would definately be a change of pace!

I would definitely watch it - I think that would be cool.
I think the Producers, though, have different ideas. They like the appeal of scantily-clad girls :-P
The whole concept of having to survive in the snow - of keeping warm and fighting those elements would be great.
As I say this, we have about another 8 inches or so of snow today. We have had more snow in April than we had in December and January combined. The other detriment would be this sort of possibility - planning for cold weather and filming in the winter and having it throw a curve.

For Survivor, I think the most winter aspect that they will ever do would be places with lots of rain (Amazon, etc.). As previous posters have said, Brunett knows whats best for the ratings and the demographic issue w/bakinis. I think it would be interesting to put people on an island who could not speak the same language and see how they could try to communicate with each other without the use of language. Now THAT would be hilarious :)
