Do multiple personalities exist in us?

We act one way in front of our parents, other way in front of our friends and totally different when alone, does tat mean we hav multiple personalties? i think that we have a lot of personalities that we havent discovered yet bec as we grow we learn more things and we see things around us that influences us too. everyday that we go through is different and who knows what can influence you tommorrow. all i know is that we are capable of being influenced by other things in our environment and sometimes it has something to do with our past experiences that we build a defense mechanism with that through our personalities because we dont want to go through it again.
