How long do you wait before marking your best response? This morning I've just spent a bunch of time rating and marking best responses, but as I was going through I noticed that there was one I already marked but someone later gave a response that I would have marked best if I had waited longer. Also I have many discussions with one response would you automatically mark is as best if even if you dont feel it was a very good response?

That is so funny that you posted this, because I was just thinking this!! Anyway, I wait about three weeks to mark my best response. I go through the ones I haven't marked yet, and then I mark away. Sometimes when I'm really bored, I'll start going through my discussions and marking the ones after a week. If one of my discussions only has one answer, then they get my best response. They took the time to respond to a discussion that other people felt wasn't important. That's my "grading" system!

I wait until I have a large number of responses, if I do then I choose my best response. I have some that don't have any responses, I wonder how I just delete those?

Hi Agwbabycakes,
I have pondered this question also. And like you I have wrongly chosen a best answer, which I later regretted.
Although I haven't asked many questions, I just chose a best answer for one last night that is well over a month old. I suspect that henceforth I will consider that a sufficient length of time.
I see some people choosing a best answer on the day they pose the question. I really think that limits the number of possible responses. Of course, there are also many here who will answer despite a best answer having already been chosen.
