Too many patients these days, not enough time. Some doctors are on a conveyor belt from patient to patient, room to room, all day long.
My doctor visits with me after the exam and I am re-dressed. I am lucky, he is able to take a bit more time with his patients or he will warn upfront it is a very busy day and I can request a call later.

I think the fact that the doctor has three times as many patients today as he did 30 years ago might be most of the problems. There aren't enough doctors being trained, and those who are are wooed away by thebig hospitals in the southern States. Doctors are very busy people and even if they take a holiday are resented. I know my doctor cannot accept any more patients, because he has to oversee the health of more than 2000 people yet he still takes family members of his patients instead of watching them search for another doctor. Its so bad that he has to pay for a translator in both vietnamese and arabic. There are no more doctors here in my city at over1 million people than there were when there were fewer than 500 thousand.
