Parents know what's best for us. What if our parents meddle in almost everything, even in choosing our life partners? Are you willing to give up even that?

No, I know they mean well but I will not let them choose my life partner or make decisions for me. How else am I going to grow up and learn life experiences if they are going to do it all for me? Maybe as a child yes, parents knew what was best for you but as you grow and learn more about life experiences, there comes a time when you need to go out on your own to find out what life is all about and for you to make those choices on your own. If you fail, then you learn from them and move on. My parents can only teach and guide me to be a better person and to make good choices in my life.

I don't believe that being a parent automatically means you always know what's best for another human. Some do, some don't. Ideally a parent would know their child's likes and dislikes and can be more adept in offering advice, but this is not always the case.
