I've got to say, it's really, really complicated. No mirrors here or there, no running water, no faucets facing in this direction or that, blah blah blah. It's very hard to make adjustments like keeping the bathroom door closed, when you have cats that need to use the loo! Likewise, I leave my faucet running so that my cats can get a cool drink while I'm gone (otherwise, they'll drink out of the toilet!) I find that even though feng shui is a nice idea, especially the "keeping things neat and in their place" aspect is very smart, and makes for a much more harmonious home. Sound, like wind chimes and running water outside is also quite appealing. But when it comes down to practicality in American society, we are woefully behind in the times. Apartments are built with cheapness in mind, not with "guarding spiritual wealth". Stoves get placed where the gas lines come in, mot where they should be in feng shui. So even though I'd love to try it, it's impossible for me. When I have the money to build a house, then maybe I'll pay more attention. :)

I do not believe that there is certain aura associated with any thing at all. And, nope, I have not tried feng shui at home, and have no plan of trying it too. Having said this, I certainly agree with the basic principle on with the idea of Feng Shui is built. The notion that one has to live "with" rather than "against" nature, sounds very sensible to me. In fact I even try to practice it by doing small things like recycling, bringing my own shopping bags to the mall (Oh yes!, I do that. Laugh, if you must). However, the practice of consulting the Feng Shui Masters to detect the follow of Chi in your house is nothing but the New Age Fad. It's perhaps the boredom that results from the lack of interesting findings in Science and Technology (compared to say, a decade or two back). This void of excitement makes the Neo-Riches to go out and find new things to amuse them, like the Feng Shui. it's just a fashion to engage a Feng Shui Master to tell you which room needs green plants and which needs red rose and to get billed thousands for it.

Hello faylinn, in India people do use vastu shastra and feng shui to get postive energy and vibes, to get the right aura and harmony for the well being of people living there esp. like in home. But i have my doubts whether it is really effective or not though i admit i don't know much about it. I know we should de clutter the house and get rid of unwanted & used items to declutter minds & for postivity. But i don't hink it is practical as with rising hosuing prices it is tough to get apartment let along build your home. I would like to thank you my friend for congratulating me on reaching 1500 posts by putting comment in my profile sometime back. Keep up posting and best of luck for reaching your milestones too. have a great day :)

Well I think it is nice to try feng shui because atleast there is something to try new in your home, although I don't trust it 100%.
