What are the best FREE download sites?

I usually find what I need from Filehippo.com or Downloads.com. Do you have other sites that you can recommend? Please do share what you know. Thanks!

Majorgeeks.com is probably the one I consult first. Another helpful one is TechSupportAlert.com, but I strongly disagree with some of Gizmo's opinions on the roles of different security programs.
If you're looking to get free versions/copies of commercial software, check 321download.com and giveawayoftheday.com. If you're looking for an FTP alternative to torrent or P2P downloading, you can PM me. I won't mention it here.

I use a forum that uses users using rapidshare for most of mine, you can find anything there. Everything is free aswell
If you are interested pm me and i will send you the link, you have to register but it is well worth it imho. I would post it here but i am not sure how well that would go over.

For games download I visit www.gamespot.com. I also used downloads.com for most of my needs. Aside from these two websites, I used limewire to download some free software. You can get limewire for evaluation at download.com. Once you install limewire, just look for the connect button to connect to the internet. Once you have successfully connected, search for the file you want on the search button. Just be careful in downloading, there are lots of files with virus.
