I have collected rupee , dollar and pounds. And i am trying to get others too. I am in search of Euro right now.

hi bhuvana,
i too collect coins. i hv coins from india right from the eighteenth century in silver, copper, aluminium and other alloys. also hv coins from usa, singapore, indonesia, germany, uk, france, europe, some countries of africa and so on.
it is definitely a cool hobby.
but i do hv a suggestion for u. do not make effort to make them shine. cos when u make them shine, they loose their value. ever coin that you have with you is worth few tens or hundreds or thousands of rupees. so leave them as it is and let their value grow. just place them separately in small plastic covers and pin the plastic.
all the best.

My ex-husband was a coin collector. He had all sorts of coins and money from different countries and also, even from different centuries. He had some Roman money and some other mediterranean country money from many many hundreds of years ago. I always thought that was fascinating because I am a history buff, but he always collected things like that. I don't know where you could find euro's right now, have you tried Ebay? They have just about everything.

My husband and I not particularly collecting coins. But we do have same rare old collections. And this collections were pass to from his beloved mom to him....and we just add the collections. Mostly silver coins. We also add with coins that we got when we were on vacation to other countries, coins that I got from my world wide penpals when I was young, and we got some from friends and relatives too.

I started to collect coins when I was younger, but never made it far. It is a very expensive hobby if you take it serious. But it can also make you a lot of money.

Till school days i had the habit of collecting not only coins but stamps too.I was so crazy those days in collecting and fight with my friends while exchanging for some coins to others which i possess extra.
After that i lost interest when i entered college.I have some of the coins and rupee notes even now.the most oldest rupee note of my collection is 200 yen note of china dated 1946.

Well, it's really not a hobby for me more like, my sister just passed the torch to me. She had this boxful of old coins and she handed it down to me. I haven't been able to add anything new to it, though. I don't want to spend my own money of these things. I just wait for some other person to hand me their old coins.
