Should Don Imus be fired?

What do you think? Yes, he made a stupid, insensitive remark about the Rutgers
girls . . . but do you think firing is too tough a punishment? Is the 2-week suspension appropriate or not enough? What do you think of the seeming double
standard that people of one's own race seem to get a pass when making derogatory
remarks?
Thoughts? Comments? Observations?

Freedom of speech is important in America, and we need to defend it. I agree it was a stupid insensitive comment but if everyone was fired for stupid insensitive remarks,Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would never work.
Along with many entertainers,politicians and news casters,just to name a few.
