I am definately more like my Dad, and I believe that makes me closer to my dad. I have a wonderful Mom as well but seem to put my Dad on a pedestal. First off state if your Male or Female, and which parent your closer to. I want to see if there is truth in the old saying "Momma's boys and Daddies girls". Thanks for your response

Personally my mother. She and I can talk for hours and share all the feelings we have inside. It is harder to share with my father how I feel on certain topics. Either he gets shy or I get shy. Things that should be shared with mom rather than dad. He tends to want to talk about certain things only and not others. He is not as affectionate as mom is. She hugs and kisses while he just smiles a big smile from ear to ear. That is just my folks though. Both are great and very much loved.

I am female and I absolutely hate my father. I love my mother, but I wish I lived like 5000 miles from her. She is a good woman with good intentions, but she is way too involved in my life and at times I think she tries to live her life over through mine. My father is an emotionally, mentally and verbally abusive brute who I have never understood what my mother saw in him that made her want to spend the rest of her life with him.

Okay well I am a female and I would have to say that I am close to both my parents in different ways. I consider myself a Daddy's girl because even though I am grown with kids of my own I still want my daddy when I am hurt. He's my hero! But when it comes to someone to talk to. I am closer to my mom. She is my best friend and I have always been able to talk to her about anything.
