How is it that one person can turn a very calm, mature discussion into a complete hog pen with ignorance being tossed about like manure? Do these people do it just to be rude? I had a discussion going for... months! Quite a long time. Everyone who responded to it use their brain, intelligence, and most of all, their maturity. But one person lacked any of these qualities and chose to stink up the discussion with the rudest comment. Ever happened to you? Vent! Let it out! Haha.

Honestly, I've never had it happen personally, but I've seen it happen to my friends and quite honestly, it disgusts me. People need to realize that Mylot isn't here as a place for people to start wielding power by throwing insults around and being completely idiotic. They don't get that the only thing they're doing is showing their immaturity and stupidity. Eventually, they will have their account deleted. I say try to ignore it if you can. They gain a sadistic satisfaction from upsetting other people and spoiling their posts. If you show that they've upset you, they gain power over you.

Hello Ambur25....... If the comment you speak of is truly abusive you should report it by using the "!" (report) option near that comment. If mylot agrees, they will remove it. It is exactly the type of thing they want us to report. If you check the does and don'ts list you will see near the top of the do's, that they request our help locating the garbage that needs to be removed. Tom

If you're topic was really meant to have a good, healthy discussion, then I think those are just out there to ruin it. I have some of them and most of the times, I comment on them just to let them know that I am not tolerating their ways of posting. I think these folks are just envy, they do not know what to do about themselves. It would be more better if you'll just ignore them, or better, report them to mylot admin. It is our duty to make the admin know and notice them of these types of people, as mylot does not tolerate this rudeness. This community is for us members, to give good quality conversation and contribute to every certain aspect we can in a positive manner..

I have had it happen a couple of times to me. It's hard to be the adult and not respond back in kind, but you have to. I just figure it's some kid who is trying to provoke an argument or they think they're cute and funny by making such smart little remarks. I just try my hardest to ignore it. :)

You are so right. I'm new to this a learning very fast how easy it is to make someone be rude to you without even knowing you. I guess you're bound to have "haters" and that too is a job that someone has to do. When does rude become completely offensive and at what point does it command action here on MyLot? I guess freedom of speech guarantees the right to blabber on no matter how rude. Sometimes I just want to erase and delete but I guess I'll have to get a blog for that.

Depending on the nature of the discussion, and the nature of the remark, I would have at the very least marked them with -. If it was bad enough, hateful enough, I would waste no time in reporting them as abuse. I hope you, and the others in your discussion just overlooked this person, pretended like they were not even here. It is obvious that they are not here for the community, if they can be rude in a discussion.

I've had this happen as well. You get the ones who feel the need to be rude I think just for the sake of being rude. I don't know why but it does make you wonder about them. I've had a few discussions where opinions have gone back and forth, where people agree or disagree but the posts are well written and they are polite. They can point out their arguments without being rude or condescending. Then you get one or two who seem to leave rude comments all over the discussion and then a free for all happens. Posters get their irritated and post back and before you know it everyone is being rude. It can really make a discussion seem petty when originally it wasn't.

I've experienced this also. With over 86 thousand members we are bound to get a lot of rude obnoxious uncaring people responding. The exclamation point report button ids our option to rid the site of these types. but please make sure it's against mylot guidfelines and not just someone voicing their opinion loudly. LOL. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I agree with you, oh well let's just say that there are really those type of people who doesn't bother ruining other people's welfare. Maybe we shouldn't mind them at all =)
