who is the youngest person you know who has a cellphone?

I once saw a girl as young as 5 using one. It was a while ago and I'm not postive that the phone was hers. Anyway she was texting or doing something on it. She was so young and it looked quite funny to see her doing that. I have also seen a few other kids who look pretty young using them. I can't tell you the ages but if I had to guess they would probably be around the age of 8 to 10.

Why does a 6 year old need a cell phone?

Seems like everyone has a phone now a days . I wish i would of had one in school would of made things so much easier and would of been able to call home if something went wrong, My cousin is is the 5th grade and wanted a cell phone but her mom said she was too young and had to wait till she was 13 , but she said all her classmates and friends have one , so my aunt caved in . So the youngest person I know is around 11.
