One of the first foods I cooked r rather, baked, was a cake.I know its crazy but I was 12 at the time and had learned the recipe which my mom used to make us cakes for our birthdays. After that I learnt cooking pretty quickly. at 14 yrs,I could cook a complete meal.My father taught me how to boil eggs, how to poach them and how to make omelettes.Having made a cake at 12 yrs, everything else was a breeze for me.I still remember the cake that I made that day,it looked nice and perfect and tasted good too.I was mighty proud of myself that day!

I think my first food experience is "crepes" or hotcakes, pancakes. They are really popular in Tahiti, especially by the influence of french culture. We always have to cook some, even during school for "Mardi-gras". And there are easier than eggs to cook. I remember we even used a piece of potato to coat the pan evenly with oil. And to avoid especially we were children to pour too much oil. Which would have give the "crepes" a bad taste, oily taste, especially when cold. (^^,)

I remember being very small and making toaster waffles completely independently. I remember being a little bit older and managing to boil hot dogs on my own. Of course, I helped make cookies and was always on hand to decorate them with frosting. The first very complicated thing I remember making was a cake with my grandmother. I would probably have been seven or so and I recall we didn't let it cool enough before we put the frosting on and it was a big, ugly mess but it tasted just as good anyway!

my first attempt of cooking was a disaster, i experimented with sauteed mung beans and put some curry powder on it. it ended up in the trash
