Toy Guns how do you feel about them?

In a town near me they have banned the use of toy guns on the streets, this is because some guns look to real and children could get hurt or worse. Personally i don't like toy guns my son had a couple when he was young but i never bought him one. Well that's not true i have bought him water guns but they are brightly colored and are fun in the heat of summer. I would however never buy him a toy gun just because he wanted one. Some of the ones he got as a little guy mysteriously disappeared HMMMMMMMMMMMMm wonder where they went. I just don't think we need to teach our children about violence will they not learn this on their own early enough?? What are your opinions on this?
