Wow, what a difference it makes when you have an attorney when you have to go to court! The last time I went on a red-light ticket where the cop lied from the beginning. This time I was going about a class c misdemeanor where the same cop lied again on his report. The cop was considered a witness in the first case; however, he was not in today's case. Like I have always believed, it makes a difference when you have money. My attorney was very happy when my case was dismissed within 37 seconds since there were no witnesses. I had a witness in the first case, but did not in today's case. I feel relieved now that it is over, and I will try my best to avoid this hateful cop until he retires (which some of the other officers say is pretty soon). Some cops tend to bully women when there is not a man, or dog, around. Anyway, it is sure funny how in the first instance he is a witness and in the second case he is not. It truly does pay to hire an attorney to protect yourself against the city, when you can. This city, Arlington, Texas, has cost us a lot of money because of that stupid football stadium they are building. Also, because the city turned off the water while trying to fix a broken water line, we had to replace a hot-water heater. We asked the city to reimburse us, but they said it is justified in case of an emergency. Then, because a neighbor-lady who told the cops I was nuts---it cost me $1200.00 to prove that I am not. I paid a private psychologist $600.00 to examine me; however, the cops made me go to the county hospital to be examined where the county psychologist could examine me. I asked the city to pay for that (another $600.00) since I was taken against my will. The psychologist told me I was fine and asked me why I was there, and I said it is because the cops believe a neighbor lady. This same lady was seen getting beaten up by her husband, and she eventually tried to commit suicide! If there was a way to move from here, we would. I wish I could go back out to the country away from all the city noise and problems. At our age, though, my husband is afraid we might lose everything. I'm sorry this post is so long, but I am happy this incident is behind me, and I hate this city!!
