This goes to all the mommies out there, what was it like seeing your baby for the first time? Unfortunately, I fell asleep immediately after I gave birth, even before they were done cleaning and bathing her. So I only go to see my baby 19 hours after I gave birth. I went into the nursery room and asked if I could visit my baby. She was so pretty and so tiny and so very much looked like me. I didn't feel like crying like others do, but I felt something wonderful that I cannot put into words. I just wanted to stare at her for as long as I could. Unfortunately I can't because viewing time was immediately over. Anyway, how about your experiences mommies?

My daughter was born by emergency c-section. As soon as the had her out the rushed her out of the room. I was so scared I started to cry. A couple of hours after she was born the doctor came in to let me know that she had a heart defect and asked if I wanted to see her. They didn't expect her to make it through the night. When I saw Caitlyn for the first time I was bawling my head off. I never wanted to let het go. Caitlyn is now 8 ... it goes to show that you never know what God has planned.

What a beautiful little girl! I'm sorry you weren't able to see her when she was born. My son was brought back to me after they cleaned him up, and stayed with me most of that night. I held DS right after they got him wiped off and breathing right. He was so amazing. I didn't hold him very long because they took him to get a bath and everything, but just a few minutes after they'd gotten me cleaned up, they brought him in to stay with me. I just held him and watched him, and counted all his fingers & toes and the like. It was totally amazing. Like nothing I could have ever imagined.
