We have beautiful wood floors throughout nearly our whole apartment, but I've recently noticed scratches and dents appearing in the wood. Seeing as we rent I'm desperate to keep the whole place in a good state, so I was wondering if anyone has some good tips on how to fix the damage done? The scratches really aren't that big or deep, but they still worry me. Thanks!

I know what you mean I have them in the house Im renting right now. But I will be moving out real soon. Im really tired of taking care of these floors. When they are cleaned up and waxed they do look good. But my hardwood floors are not in the best of shape. They have alot products at the stores for hardwood floors.

I've been waxing my floors a lot recently and it really does seem to help. They still aren't in the best of shape, but I think this is a good way to at least fix the bad scratches.

Surface scratches in a hardwood floor can be touched up with a hardwood repair kit. These come in various styles, the most common being color sticks (they look like crayons). You basically just use one, or a combination of them to best match the color of your floor. Dents and bangs that you are describing are a completely different story, however. There is no way to fill in a dent, if you have actually compressed the wood. There are only 2 ways to truly remove a dent and that is a board replacement or to sand the floor. If the floor is prefinished - board replacment. If the floor is sand on site finished - sanding.

I read a tip on a site about using a little bit of water and a hair dryer to raise the dents again, do you think that would work? Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!
