Not usually. If it's fiction and an engaging story then I do not fall asleep instead I HAVE to finish the book. If it isn't really engaging or if it's a textbook I usually fall asleep pretty quickly. Techinical terms are best if I want to use reading as a sleep aid. If I don't fall asleep, at least I have done something productive by studying.

Sit tight straight up with your hair tied to the ceiling and two nails facing up on either side of your hips. So if you move, you will feel pain everywhere so the only option is to concentrate on your study.break your studying into bite sized pieces and take frequent short breaks....studying too long will give you burn out. I found when I was in school this worked well for me.Set a timer and only study for 1 to 2 hours at a time....that's what I used to do. I hate studying....but at least with the timer I always had something to look forward to...45 more minutes....just half and hour.....15 minutes.....I'm almost there! Then take a break...get a snack, take a nap, or take a shower. Get your mind off studying for a bit. If you are a bad procrastinator (like me) you may need to set a time limit for your break as well...then go back to studying and you will be fresh and your mind will be clear. You can't just sit there and study forever...on and on and on because not only will you get bored, frustrated or tired, you will also not retain as much.

Actually no. Whenever I have a book to read, I got this feeling that I have to finish reading it. I can't seem to put it down. Specially if the story is too good and its written by my favorite author or writer. I find watching tv easier to fall asleep, specially if the show is so boring.
