Recent studies show that living or working in a noisy environment could increase a person's risk of a heart attack. Furthermore, traffic noise increased heart attack risk twofold to threefold according to a German study in the European Heart Journal.
Risk appeared to be related to HOW LOUD rather than how annoying the noise was, so current noise safety levels may need be stricter.
One explanation why loud noises may increase the risk of heart attack is because the noise increase psychological stress and anger, leading to physiological changes in the body such as increased levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline, which are associated with with increased blood pressure and plasma lipids, plus considering other personal parameters such as smoking and pressure from meeting deadlines would in any way increased blood pressure.
No EXACT value of decibels are given but they gave us the range of safety level like 65 to 75 decibels.More than this could be hazardous.
Road construction equipment register a sound level of 85 decibels which is till too high, according to the study.
For your info: normal conversation registers 50-60 decibels;
a loud radio 65-75,
a busy street 78-85
a pighouse at feeding time 110
a chain saw 115-120
a jet taking off 140
So it is admonished that we have avoided places which are giving us loud noises.

that's what environmentalists are telling us that we should be aware of the different pollutants that cause hazardous effects to humans. the air we breathe, the water we drink, the place we live in, the noises we heard are either directly or indirectly affecting our health today.

yeah, you are right..loud noises also are bad to the ears because they cause you to sufer deafness, and other ear conditions. one way of preventing these risks is do not expose yourself to heavy noise or by lowering the threshol by protective wear. avoid places which are very noisy, that's it.

NOISE POLLUTION would be an acceptable term, I think. You said it right that too much noise gives you stress that somehow disrupts some bodily functions. that's why you experience headache.

That was really very informative ryan. Thanks for sharing it with us. It is true. I get irritated with loud noise. In my case I'd like to be in a quiet place too relax and have peace of mind. That is why I am lucky tro be here in Lipa where there are lots of quiet place compared to manila.

how nice of you living in a quiet place like lipa. i really like to stay in the province compared to urban. City life like in Manila is very stressful as we all know it. I am pretty sure that if studies are conducted in Metro Manila as to the people getting risk of heart attack mainly by loud noises, the percentage would be higher compared to those living in the countryside.
