When and your boyfriend/girlfriend watch tv together...

Do you try to talk over the TV to test which one they will pay more attention to? Does your partner do this to you? Me, I don't do this, but whether I care or not if someone else does it depends on the circumstances. If it's sports, and she's interested in the game, and asking me what's going on, I'll gladly explain it to her. If she's talking about something else the whole time, or she's interrupting The Office to talk to me, she can just shut it. One particularly interesting story involves a guy with TiVo, which basically lets you pause live-TV. A girl he was dating was watching TV with him. She began talking to him over his show, and so he hit the pause button to listen to her. She told him "oh, no, let it keep going", but he asked her what she wanted to say. And she actually got pissed at him because he wouldn't let her talk over the TV. Basically, she was testing him to see whether he would pay more attention to her or to the TV. And he unintentionally foiled the test.

That's a funny story about the tivo. My fiance is actually the one who interupts me when I'm watching tv. That absolutely drives me insane. He just gets so excited about stuff and has to tell me right that moment. I have been guilty of pausing tv when he does that. He will literally get in between me and the tv to make sure I'm paying attention to him lol. I'm pretty good about letting him watch his shows. Like I know when he's watching Star Trek to just let him be. The only thing that interupts him watching tv is when my daughter gets mad.

I didn't know this was a test. Maybe that's why my boyfriend got mad at me. LOL. Honestly, I hate it when my favorite TV show is on and my boyfriend keeps asking me questions about what's going on or when we're watching a movie and he missed a line an actor said or when he wants me to explain what happens. Really, it pisses me off. It's because I can only concentrate one thing at a time and if I have to stop and answer his question then I'll miss on some important scene. Basically, I don't think this should be a test. It's TV for pete's sake, if you have something so important to say, wait until the commercial. That's the reason for commercials anyways. LOL.
