Insomnia is too little or poor-quality sleep caused by one or more of the following:
Trouble falling asleep
Waking up a lot during the night with trouble returning to sleep
Waking up too early in the morning
Having un-refreshing sleep (not feeling well rested), even after sleeping 7 to 8 hours at night
Insomnia can cause problems during the day, such as excessive sleepiness, fatigue, trouble thinking clearly or staying focused, or feeling depressed or irritable. It is not defined by the number of hours you sleep every night. Although the amount of sleep a person needs varies, most people need between 7 and 8 hours of sleep a night.

Insomnia is a condition where a person suffers from sleeplessness! Though the person feels tired nd exhausted he is unable to get proper sleep! This is a typical or classical case of Insomnia. Now a days Doctors says that the breaks in the sleep or inturrupted sleeps are also come under the heading of Insomnia.
In general avn avrage adult requires 8 hours sleep per day, which decreases with the increase of age.Excessive sleep more than required may also makes one feel taht he/shecis suffering from Insomnia, where as the fact is that he/she already has completed the required quota of sleep for that day!
The possible causes of actual Insomnia are stress.mental and physical, anxiety, tensions, physical or mental worries, traumas etc.
Mainly it is the anxiety and the frisky and cheeky brain of ours which never keeps it self idle, leads to this state. Chronic Insomnia may lead to many serious problems pertaining to mental or physical well being of a person!
The best thing is to train one self in getting regular sleep instead of going in for sleeping puills, wghich often people tend to do! Tarin your self to haveca good sleep!
Physical exercise, timely food nd healthy balanced diet, fixed time to go to bed , reading some nice text before going to sleep, meditation, practicing yoga are few things which can help in getting rid of Insomnia!
During our Childhood we used to ask to count back fronm Hundred to one to have a nice sleep! This really used to work for me! and still some times it works!
I myself exert a lot and I only go to bed when I am really tired and it takesw me no time to get into sleep ! I think exerting and making your body tired is the key factor in getting out of this disorder!
Thanks for starting a nice discussion ! All the best!
