I my oppinion a natural talent isn't anything if you don't take care of it and "feed it" with technique and strength. In dancing you often see people with lot's of technique but no tallent or no feeling in their dancing, which ir just plain boring to look at. But it is equaly boring to see a talanted dancer who is not able to perform his/her best, because of a lack of technique or strength.
If you want to be able to use your talent, go find a class which can help you develope it! You'll get the right muscles in the right places, and find it easier to make your body do the things your talent tells it to do.
But lets not forget that (in my oppinion) dancing on the dancefloor on a club is very different from dancing on the stage - I'm great on stage, but honestly I sort of suck on the club dance floor! ;)

I believe natural talent can only get you so far in some forms of dance - it's just like sports or any other art form. In ballet, for example, at my studio you were not allowed pointe shoes until you were at least eleven years old with a certain amount of experience at the advanced level. This takes years of training to accomplish, regardless of your talent. And some of the more classical dance that are ballet-influenced like jazz and lyrical also apply. I would also say tap is probably another.
However, in the more "free form" styles like modern, I would say it is entirely possible to get on with no formal training since there is no fixed or standardized technique one must follow.
But for the majority of the professionals I know (myself included) - even the naturally talented ones - years of training was necessary to get to where they were. However, even so, it can show through when and where natural talent plays a part because some of them had to train their whole lives from the age of pre-8 to reach that elitest-most level while others could start as late as when they were teenagers and made it through in five years or less. So I would say for most styles of dance, natural talent is a plus, but it's not everything.

I don't think that it is always necessary to take dancing lessons. I think that many people are just naturally talented. I suppose it might depend on what type of dance you wish to perform though. Many people that I know do well with no training.
